Wednesday of Holy Week - His Silence Speaks

Friends, 

On this Wednesday of Holy Week we realize the gospels are silent regarding the activities of Christ for this day - causing us to wonder - "what might our Lord have done?"  But, knowing Him as we do, I think we may be certain of at least one thing He must have done.

Monday of Holy Week - Jesus Cleanses the Temple

Friends, 

Our reading of the gospels reveal that on Monday of Christ's final week on earth prior to his passion on the cross he went into the temple and began to chase out the money changers - saying, "My house shall be called a house of prayer but you have made it a den of robbers." 

His words and actions were harsh on this day, and it might be easy for us to smugly remove ourselves from this scene in consideration of our own life.  But I wonder, if Jesus were to come into our houses of worship what might he find and say of us?

On this Palm Sunday we can rejoice and sing as the words, Hosanna, because we know that there is a day coming when, indeed, "the whole world" really will "go after him." John 12:19
