Busy Week - Mission Week - Every Week

Today was very exciting at Parkwayhills as we enjoyed an excellent summer crowd and Christ-filled worship, together. Also, seeing several new families committing to God's local church as members, as well as re-commititing their lives in service to Him, made the day all the more meaningful. Indeed, this is why we gather - to worship and be equipped in Him today, so as to better serve Him everyday.

Now this week will be an excellent example of one other thing for us - the power of His church saying 'yes' to the commission of being 'sent.' For, not only will our members go into the workplace - both here and around the world through the course of business travel, etc. - we will 'specially' send 100 of our members to South Texas (San Antonio) and South America (Brazil), as well. Yes, every year Parkwayhills demonstrates what is best about us as we see as many as 30-40% of our active attenders (between 300 -500 people) directly participate in God's mission 'outside' our church walls.

Reflecting on this joy, though, your pastor is praying that this summer of mission will translate into life-style. That God would take our '4 days,' or '2 weeks,' and turn them to a life-time of the same. Whether that be to volunteer at Bible School, Summer Music Camp, to begin a LIFEgroup, or as a mentor for our Boys and Girls Club - to feed the homeless or answer the phone at our Need Him Call Center - the goal of this church remains that EVERY MEMBER experience LIFEchange to the point of impacting lifestyle unto the mission of Christ.

So if you are going this week - to San Antonio or Brazil - "well done!" If next - to New York or Orlando - then "well done, you!" But, if 'yet,' then know - EVERYONE began that first day with a word called, "YES!" And let that word be your next word, too.
